Stolen Kisses Got Me All A’Twitter

Posted on Thursday 23 April 2009

It has been months–months–since I had a giddy, fun, quasi-flirtateous day. It has been months–and frankly it’s felt like years–since I kissed someone for the sheer fun of it. It has been forever since I simply had fun for fun’s sake and expected nothing more beyond a kiss when the day was done.

Yesterday was that day. I put the Twitter stuff and copyright idiocy away for a few hours. I traveled to places in the Keys I’d never been. I drank vodka and OJ and a couple of Nassau shots and then I had the best mahi salad I’ve ever tasted.

I don’t kiss anyone at bars, or least I don’t kiss anyone at bars when I don’t want to. I kissed the same boy at several outside bars with views to die for yesterday, “Because no one knows us here or there or anywhere.” Because our “date” was where some knew him and no one knew me, and it was all laughing and silliness.

I didn’t give a crap about copyrights or Twitter or “What am I doing with my life?” or anything serious or or dark or deep or scary. I didn’t care for once–for one day out of the zillion I feel like I have lived–and I had so, so much fun.

What a relief it was to have that kind of fun. What a relief to know I can have that kind of fun again.

For those of you following the copyright drama–all thanks to a self-described “writer” posing as RG in South Carolina–I have claimed RG IDs on Facebook and >My Space. Yeah, so those are mine, too. I have enlisted an attorney to help me swat this Twitter pest. But in the midst of it all, something funny happened: I am getting followers on Twitter and getting to know my readers in an entirely different way. So what if I can’t manage to load a photo on Twitter or properly answer anyone? The more the merrier, I say. I’ll get it, soon. I always do. ๐Ÿ˜‰

Hi RG: How sweet. I love it when Life will (once in awhile) give us a rose and tell us that we’re the most fascinating person it’s met in a long, long time.

Silly way to put it, but that feeling of romance and “comfortable in our own skin” is very cool – glad you had a great time.

I like you this way, RG. You ARE a lot of fun.
You didn’t steal those kisses. They were well earned.
Next time try it at your local bar.
    Catch you later.
