Wow. I feel so bad for that young man. It’s wonderful that you and RG Daughter (and that other couple) took the time to help him. There are bad people everywhere. If only the good people would step forward more often maybe we could take the power away from them.

In my quiet little suburb, I’m going to be more cautious now… Maybe not quite as cautious as I was in Brooklyn, but definitely more aware of my surroundings.

I’m glad that there were the right people on that street. The man was taken care of and the bad guys were caught.

good for you and fast thinking on eveyone’s part…sadly it’s not the norm.. that people help or the bad guys get caught immediately…also, thanks for a reminder that even in “safe” areas, we need to be aware of our surroundings..criminals certainly are!

as much as it sucks that they had you do the ID on the street (which personally i find atrocious) you did an awsome thing…..

too many people keep quiet and the guilty get away with it

holy crap. I’m reading along thinking of all the times we’ve walked that same streat… I can taste the gelato… only we always get sorbet. we love the little tucked away park… it is such a lovely walk really. Beautiful houses, so much history…

then bam, I’m there on the street with you, seeing the blood on that boy shirt, his stunned expression.

I’m still in shock.
i hate bad guys .

Wow, lucky for him there were so many concerned people around! Sounds like you were a big help!

… still, it makes me sad that the first thing I thought was “lucky for him he was in a rich neighborhood, or he’d have just bled to death before the cops got there.”

Wow. Episodes that that always provoke one to thinking. I’ve lived in some dicey places (Hello, Detroit), and people would always say, “Aren’t you paranoid living there?” “Uh, no, not really,” I’d tell them, “Those jerks go to the rich suburbs where the money is.” Sounds like the case there also.

Glad to hear you and yours are fine. Another fine post, and you could tell it’s still fresh in your mind. Must’ve been a restorative adult beverage beside the keyboard.
